A company based in Polokwane is seeking to employ a Bookkeeper on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Provide efficient and effective internal and external communication.**
- Provide timeous and helpful service to internal and external customers at all times.
- Advise the Workshop Foreman immediately of any expected problems or delays.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal customers
- Respond timeously to all internal and external queries and complaints.

**Bookkeeping**
- Check and verify source documents such as invoices, receipts,
- Correct accounting treatment - accruals, payments made in advance, debtors, creditors
- Allocate and post financial transaction details to accounting software
- Transfer data to general ledgers
- Reconcile and balance all accounts
- Assist in drawing up financial statements (i.e. Trial balance - Statement of financial performance, Statement of financial position)
- Analyse account data and generate financial reports
- Maintain internal control systems - internal audit and asset management
- Good understanding of VAT act,
- Assist in verification of audit source documents
- Maintain complete filing system to support financial records

**Support**
- Participate in the recommendation of additional needs.
- Petty cash allocations on job orders.
- Assisting the service advisor when required for handling enquiries, booking of services etc.
- Assisting with both service advisor and warranty clerk admin duties
**Stock**
- Monthly parts Stock reports.
- Stock value
- Costing discrepancies
- Stock Ageing
**Branch**
- General Ledger
- Trial Balance
- Statement of Branch financial position
**Debtors**
- Ageing
- Status with follow up comments per debtor
**Petty cash**
- Summary of Expenses & Float
**Phone accounts**
- All Cell Phone accounts
- All Landline and Switchboard accounts
