**Purpose of the position**:
To provide age-appropriate patients according to the nursing scope of practice as defined by the South African Nursing Counsil (SANC)

**Key Perfomance Areas**
- Must be able to practice within the scope of practice as a Registered Nurse
- Ability to understand and follow policies, procedures, and protocols
- Must be competent with the Hospital’s Policies and Regulations
- Ability to teach and supervise staff in Theatre
- Experience in handling drugs and scheduling is a legal requirement
- Equipment maintenance and motivations
- To ensure the Theatre in running at the highest standard

**Competencies**

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS** (Educational Qualifications & Experience)
- Must be registered with SANC
- Theatre Trained (Post Basic in Operating Theatre)
- Preferably 2 or more years of experience as a Scrub Nurse
- Must be prepared to work additional hours
- Must be computer literate - MS Word and Excel
- Excellent communication skills
- Must have excellent telephone skills
- Good interpersonal skills with doctors, patients and colleagues are essential
- Professionalism and initiative
- Well-spoken and respectful
- Must be able to adhere to all company rules and policies
