Our client, a leader in the private healthcare industry, is looking for an experienced **Emergency Centre Doctor** for a **Head of Emergency** vacancy. This is a **permanent opportunit**y at a private hospital in **Worcester** in the **Western Cape**.

**Minimum Requirements**:
**REQUIRED EDUCATION**
- **Essential education**: MBChB/MBBCh and Dip PEC (or equivalent)
- **Desired education**: A FCEM, MMed EM, MPhil EM, MSc, PhD EM or equivalent qualification will serve as an advantage
- Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)

**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE**
- **Essential experience**:At least three years’ experience working in an emergency centre in the private sector and at least one year of supervisory or managerial experience
- **Desired experience**:Suitable managerial and leadership involvement in the emergency medicine environment

**REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE**
- Advanced Life Support Courses (Cardiac, Paediatric and Trauma)
- Other relevant clinical courses (e.g. Advanced airway, Ultrasound, Procedural sedation)
- Private healthcare industry knowledge
- Data management and report writing skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Charter of the Public and Private Health Sectors of the Republic of South Africa
- Patients’ Right Charter
- Children’s Act No. 38 of 2005 & Children’s Amendment Act No. 41 of 2007
- Health Professions Act No. 56 of 1974
- HPCSA Regulations and Guidelines on Ethical rules, regulations and policy guidelines
- National Health Act No.61 of 2003 & Mental Health Care Act No. 17 of 2002
- South African Triage Scale
- Disaster and Major Incident Management
- Clinical Policies and Procedures relevant to the Emergency Centre

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**JOB DESCRIPTION**

To provide overall clinical leadership in the emergency centre and to be the driver for safe, patient-focused clinical care by the effective development and utilisation of resources, ongoing data analysis and prioritised action plans.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS**
- Lead the clinical service delivery in the emergency centre
- Lead, manage and mentor the emergency centre practitioners
- Integrate data, audits and reports to develop solutions for business
- requirements
- Actively participate in company strategies and projects
- Initiate and drive emergency centre quality improvement and quality assurance initiatives to ensure safe, quality patient care is delivered at all times
- Identify and mitigate risks in the emergency centre
