An exciting opportunity exists for a **Technical Trainer **at **NATIONAL BRANDS LIMITED, Isando, Biscuits factory**. The purpose of the role is to provide operational training services to the Quality, Engineering, and Logistics & Manufacturing departments in an effort to address legislative, statutory and business competence requirements.

**Job Specification**:
**Key Performance Areas**:
**Technical training support provided to the business unit or site**
- Identify training needs identified either through line discussions or gap analysis or assessments process - define ideal
- Identification of skills and performance gaps
- Review of existing training processes, material and assessments available
- Develop solutions to close the gap
- Identify suitable partners to assist in closing gaps
- Ensure support staff and key stakeholders are adequately trained to assess/coach/develop staff and/or material
- Monitor and assess training and assessment plans and roll out (monthly/weekly meetings - track progress against plan)
- Manage or escalate challenges that may arise and ensure issues are addressed

**Skills capability developed on-site (for Operators, Senior Operators and Artisans)**
- Identify training needs or gaps
- Monitor Nomination Forms and conduct on-the-job training.
- Arrange classroom training where required
- Answer questions and help resolve issues that arise
- Arrange training with the OEM where required

**Execution of training strategy and associated action plans to address training/competence development needs**
- Identify training needs or respond to request from employee or manager, site HR, Ops executive or Factory manager
- Establish long term, medium-term and short term training requirements for site aligned to business goals and strategy
- Determine exact need (and supporting information required to establish actual need)
- Research conducted to provide suitable solutions/partners

**Planning, training and assessment of Operational training using SOPs/WI’s and assessment tools. Maintenance of operational Skills Matrix and assessment records**
- Generate and update Skills Matrices
- Develop and reviewing existing SOPs/ WI’s and amending where necessary
- Draw up operational training schedule or plan
- Develop Assessment tools
- Conduct operational training and Assessment
- Manage and report On-the-job training records
- Manage the Implementation of Planned Job Observations
- Captures operational training and assessment records

**Ensuring site compliance to training standards, including the development of training & Assessment tools.**
- Production lines/factories scoped and mapped to determine required competencies.
- Operators are assessed against required competencies, set on the skills matrix
- Senior operators & Supervisors are assessed against required competences
- Engineering Technical staff are trained and assessed against required competencies

**Minimum Requirements**:
**Experience**:

- 3 years working within learning and development
- 3 years working experience within an FMCG / Manufacturing environment
- 3 years’ assessor/moderator experience

**Qualifications**:

- Professional registration with SETA as an Assessor and Trainer essential coupled with tertiary qualification:

- Completed Nated Certificate - N3/4//5/6
- National Diploma / BTech / BSc in Engineering Studies (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Instrumentation, and Chemical)
- Professional registration with SETA as a Moderator advantageous
- NQF 5 - National Certificate in Occupationally-Directed Education, Training and Development Practices (OD-EDTP) advantageous
- Registered Skills Development Facilitator would be ideal
- National Artisan Moderation Body (NAMB) Assessor and/or Trade Test Official Moderator would be highly advantageous

**Additional Requirements**:

- Understanding and ability to develop Skills Matrices and Learning Tools
- Understanding principles of Out-come Based education, facilitation, assessment and moderation of assessments in the workplace.
