Business Solutions Manager

**Job Purpose**:
The business solutions manager oversees and manages the company's IT operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities revolve around devising strategies to optimize overall IT operations, setting objectives, managing the budgets and schedules, liaising with internal and external parties, identifying the strengths and weaknesses of procedures, and implementing solutions to problem areas. Furthermore, as a business solutions manager, it is essential to lead and encourage the Systems team to reach goals, all while implementing the company's policies and regulations.
**Key responsibilities - South Africa & Namibia**:
Information Technology
- Establish and maintain a flawless intra-network.
- Monitor incoming and outgoing data-traffic via a Managed Service Provider (MSP)
- Oversee troubleshooting, system back-ups, archiving, disaster recovery and provide expert support when necessary.
- Monitor IT system performance in conjunction with IT technician to ensure an efficient and secure IT system.
- Implement network security and prevent virus attacks on the company’s computers and network by liaising and using PS HQ / MSP resources. Whilst maintaining and or improving standards as per PS/HQ regulations
- Assist in the planning and implementation of additions, deletions, and major modifications to the infrastructure.
- Oversee the purchase, install and maintain hardware/software components of the company’s IT systems.
- Supervise the IT related work of suppliers.
- Build and maintain vendor relationships
- Acquire in-depth knowledge of the company’s database.
- Regular audit of systems - backups, inventory, documentation, IT and security procedures, user experience and overall system performance
- Research and implement IT-based solutions to improve workflow within the company and towards partners.
- Establish and maintain host-to-host connection to the company’s agents
- Monitor & improve the quality of data loaded by the Systems team in the database.
- Ensure pricing Matrix in Tourplan is always up to date
- Budget responsibility for all office-related expenses, including adherence to 3 quote rule and signing authority levels. Overall negotiate cost / maintain BUD as required
- Review annual short and long-term IT vision for the PS Infrastructure and PS team productivity (Annual roadmap)
- Keep updated with all new local and international government regulations relating to IT infrastructure such as but not limited to GDPR and POPII
- Manage PS mobile and ISP accounts
**Human Resources**
- Supervise, train, and motivate the line reports.
- Be approachable and supportive to your staff.
- Ensure open communication and information policy and have regular meetings with your staff.
- Establish clear targets for your staff, carry out annual performance appraisals and be involved in any required disciplinary procedures.
- Ensure proper training for new staff in coordination with HR.
- Ensure all IT related Policies and relating NDA’s are up to date (PS staff records)
**Leadership**
- Keep all information obtained from management confidential if not explicitly told otherwise.
- Support the decision-making process of management by giving input.
- Lead, inspire, motivate, coach and develop teams
- Manage the performance review process for direct reports including the setting of S.M.A.R.T. goals, personal development plans, providing regular performance feedback and conducting formal performance reviews.
- Ensure high levels of measurable staff engagement & morale within the teams and collaborate with managers to develop action plans to keep teams energised and motivated.
- Be familiar with and ensure that all company policies are implemented and adhered to.
- Create an environment that promotes trust, fairness, and high standards of work performance.
- Provide thought leadership regarding a tech driven and efficient environment
- Demonstrate good communication, project management and collaboration skills
- At all times exhibit a positive image of the company
