- front scientific collaboration. Our culture is research-based with scientists involved in all lab activities and analysis. This approach is critical to solving challenging problems in new assay development and to the identification of new insights into the clinical pharmacology of the drug. We help clients interpret the results of the biomarker analysis, often considering the clinical data, to advise on implications for the drug in question.

Synexa has close to 120 employees currently based in Berlin, Cape Town, Dublin, Glasgow, Leiden, London, Paris, Rockville and Turku. Our ambition is to double in size and increase our global footprint.

As the Finance Manager you will join and manage 3 team members primarily based in Cape Town.

**JOB PURPOSE**

The primary objective of the Finance Manager/Director is to manage all finance related processes within Synexa Life Sciences globally.

**DUTIES may include, but are not limited to**:

- Oversees timeous recording and reporting of all financial transactions.
- Oversee completion of Month end processes.
- Financial bookkeeping (suppliers invoice capturing, customer invoicing, payroll processing, bank transactions)
- Assist with payment of vendors, staff salaries.
- Debt Collection.
- Oversee reconciliation of Debtors & Creditors accounts.
- Oversees monthly account reconciliations for all locations timeously 1) Suspense accounts 2) Prepayments 3) Intercompany Loan accounts in various currencies between various sites 4) Any other accounts that your manager requires you to reconcile.
- Accurately process, balance and reconcile all cashbooks & all petty cash for all companies timeously within the required deadlines.
- Treasury and cash management, ensuring efficient bank payments.
- Corporate income tax, VAT and Wage Tax returns and processing.
- Oversee Financial audit globally with knowledge of International Auditing Standard and Tax laws.
- Experience with multi currencies (GBP; EUR; ZAR; USD)
- Is customer focussed and constantly looks for opportunities to improve processes, procedures, and systems.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Requires a relevant diploma or degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping in area of specialty.
- At least 5-10 years of experience in bookkeeping, financial and management role.
- Experience working with Odoo accounting / Sage Evolution
- Knowledge of implementing new accounting software will be advantageous.
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.

**Experience**:

- Chartered Accountant: 5 years (preferred)
- Accounting Degree: 10 years (preferred)
