**Role summary**

The Regional Clinical Manager will be responsible for the implementation and oversight of all clinical aspects and will act in an advisory role.

Administered Practises (MAPs) within the Primary Care Division. This includes the design, implementation and monitoring of all functions and activities related to the provision, training, promotion and assurance of quality patient care, in consultation with all relevant stakeholders. Specifically, the Regional Clinical Manager will work in close collaboration with the Regional Management Team and in close consultation to the PCD

National Nursing Manager, and PCD Medical and Dental Directors to ensure the clinical strategies are fully operationalised within each of the respective business units.

**Education**
- A relevant nursing qualification (Diploma in General Nursing / B Cur Degree) or equivalent NQF level 7 qualification.
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse.
- Compliance with the SANC code for a Registered Nurse and all applicable health care legislations.
- A relevant management qualification would be preferred.

**Work experience**
- Senior nursing management position for at least 5 years.
- Experience in the private sector would be an advantage.

**Duties**:

- Business Acumen & Environmental Scanning
- Has a consolidated understanding of the business values and market dynamics affecting each area in the region.
- Is able to effectively manage the regional clinical strategy by developing and driving tactical plans aligned to the overarching national strategy.
- Understand and analyse changing patterns and trends in the region to set relevant resourcing plans and performance objectives.
- Anticipate changing requirements and is able to motivate the development, management and termination of services and priorities to ensure operational efficiency.
- Demonstrate leadership by conveying a strong sense of commitment to values and strategic objectives to ensure business growth and unit sustainability.
- Understand and keep the business strategic objectives, as well as healthcare industry values,
- professional codes of conduct and legislative developments at the forefront of decision-making and action.
- Operational efficiencies, process design, implementation, monitoring and improvement
- Initiate and ensure implementation of clinical operational activities, policies and procedure within the region, which will require alignment to the goals of broadening access to healthcare in South Africa specifically related solutions and activities.
- Responsible for the design, delivery, coordination, management, evaluation, and continuous improvement of clinical operational efficiency programs to ensure person centred health and care that is digitally enabled and data-driven.
- Set priorities for focused areas aligned with strategic directives, identifying opportunities, and advising on specific areas of expertise.
- Support the operationalization of relevant business models and strategic initiatives in order to leverage cross-business synergies and to provide best in class clinical care.
- Drive activity based clinical models to ensure clinical operational efficiencies are delivered.
- Implement best practices and business processes to ensure efficient ways of operating and continuous business and clinical improvement within the region.
- Ensure implementation of systems and processes and policies to improve clinical quality outcome,reduce waiting times and support accurate Health data and information.
- Promote good public relations with patients, relatives, visitors, tenants, contractors, sales
- representatives and Practitioners.
- Create an environment where staff are aware of the role, they play in the provision of quality patient care and their value to the organization, and communicate changes in processes to practitioners.
- Engage with Technical team on Technology standards, equipment asset register, and Preventative maintenance programme to reduce down time on equipment and improve operational efficiencies.

Financial Management
- Ensure clinical hours align with acuity and skill mix to support the activity-based models in a cost effective manner whilst ensuring that safe quality care is delivered at all times.
- Assist Charge sisters, Dental team leaders and Clinic Managers and Managing Practitioners to ensure Medical and Dental Equipment needs analysis is done for budget / Capital expenditure purposes inclusive of new equipment required and maintenance and repair expenses requirements.
- Monitor operational clinical budgets to monitor and evaluate clinical related costs.
- Actively drive and participate in stock management initiatives.
- Liaise and support clinical teams to drive preferential procurement and purchase according to standard product list and minimum and maximum stock levels.
