SQL DBA - Bellville

**Introduction**

Our client is very dynamic IT Solutions company based in Belville, currently looking for a SQL DBA to join their amazing team. The successful individual must be strong in query and stored procedure writing. As an SQL DBA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, reliability, and efficiency of our organization's database systems.

**Responsibilities**:

- Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries to support data retrieval, manipulation, and analysis.
- Create and maintain efficient stored procedures, triggers, and functions for data processing, data validation, and business logic implementation.
- Optimize database performance by identifying and resolving query performance bottlenecks, analysing execution plans, and tuning indexes.
- Perform regular database maintenance activities, including monitoring, backups, restores, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Monitor database systems to ensure availability, integrity, and security of data, and proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Perform database capacity planning and recommend infrastructure enhancements to support future growth.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving database-related issues, including data integrity, performance, and connectivity problems.

**Requirements**:

- Proven work experience as an SQL Database Administrator with a focus on query optimization and stored procedure development - 2 - 3 years’ experience.
- Expertise in writing complex SQL queries and stored procedures using T-SQL.
- Strong understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS) and database design principles.
- Experience with database monitoring tools and performance diagnostic tools.
- Familiarity with backup and recovery processes, database security, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse and resolve database-related issues.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment that can change often.
