Automation Technician

**Your mission**:

- Overall responsibility for electrical automation technology asset care (maintenance and troubleshooting)
- Execute defined maintenance strategies/routines, related to industrial electronic equipment
- Continuous improvement of mill reliability KPI’s related to electrical automation
- Keep up to date with, & support the implementation of new technologies
- Perform Mill wide electrical automation technician standby as required
- Coordinate & support plant electrical team with problem problem-solving
- Provide input into database of BU electronic failures to facilitate system reliability reviews, skills improvement and quick reference guides for typical technical problems
- Engineering Maintenance Execution (including shutdown and Asset Care management).
- Excellent maintenance execution for large industrial sites.
- Good understanding of all fields of engineering (mechanical(basic), electrical(expert), instrumentation and automation (expert)) and how to mentor and coach others
- Robust technical background in the electrical automation
- Prioritise and manage time to achieve consistent results (consistent value adding).
- Solve complex electrical automation problems (from program debugging to expert knowledge of electrical starters, relays, variable frequency drives, UPS, battery-management-systems etc.)

**Your profiles**:

- S4 or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Heavy current)
- BTech would be advantageous
- 3 to 5 years of solid experience in heavy engineering and production experience in Electrical Automation related to the heavy engineering pulp & paper industry
- 1 to 2 years technician-in-training programme would be very advantageous
- Experienced in Pulp & Paper or equivalent technologies.
- Excellent understanding of electrical automaton technology including but not limited to VSDs, PLCs, DCS, Motor Control technology, electrical system protection relays, recti-formers, engineering PCs and Servers and basic IT.
- Good understanding of industrial communication protocols (Profibus, Profinet, Serial bus communication etc)
- Good understanding of Siemens Simatic Manager, TIA system, ABB800 XA, In-Touch SCADA etc
- Functional Safety Systems, Advanced Process Control & Distributed Control Systems (Valmet DNA DCS, would be advantageous)
- Proven experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical automation systems
