The primary responsibility of this role is to design, manage, and execute field trial work pertaining to crop science research.

The position will require the collection and management of efficacy data and residues by complying with the research protocols.

An understanding and working knowledge of agricultural systems and technology and the crops in the **Mpumalanga** or **Natal** region will be extremely advantageous.

The person will become part of our team, but should be able to work and manage his projects independently.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

- Carry out the execution of field trials.
- Assist the National Study Director in the monitoring of field trial activities.
- Capture data and maintain field trial data sets.
- Quality and integrity of record keeping during field trial execution.
- Daily data and information to be sent to head office (Cape Town).
- Manage personnel in your team.
- Manage and maintain vehicle and company equipment in your team.
- Communicate any deviations and potential problems with head office (Cape Town).

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- 1-3 years’ experience in an agricultural role.
- High School Certificate & Diploma / Degree in Agriculture.

*Additional certifications -AVCASA beneficial.
- Fluent communication in English (verbal, written) and Afrikaans (verbal, written).
- Computer literate (MS Office), time management, problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge in fields of pest control and field research.
- Knowledge on the life cycle, signs and symptoms and other relevant information on pests, diseases and weeds commonly found and likely to occur in the area of operation (**Mpumalanga or Natal**).
- Understanding of the use, actions and risks related to agrochemical products.
- Provide the required support to the National Study Director to ensure the field trials are conducted accurately and in accordance with protocol.
- Collect and capture data accurately.
- Manage the test product inventory accurately, while maintaining the required health and safety procedures throughout the process.
- The person will become part of our team, but should be able to work and manage his projects independently.

SALARY:

- Negotiable, according to experience.
