Reinsurance Controller

A niche commercial insurer is looking for a highly skilled, organised, and detailed-orientated Reinsurance Controller to join their team. The successful incumbent will be responsible for managing and overseeing the reinsurance operations, play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient management of reinsurance agreements, claims processing, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

**Responsibilities**:

- Monitor and evaluate the performance of reinsurance contracts
- Manage the overall reinsurance function for short-term insurance, including treaty and facultative reinsurance arrangements
- Maintain strong relationships with reinsurers, brokers, and other external stakeholders
- Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams on reinsurance matters
- Collaborate with underwriters to analyse risk exposures and determine appropriate reinsurance structures
- Generate reports and analysis on reinsurance activities, presenting findings to management as required
- Oversee the timely and accurate processing of reinsurance claims, including claim verification, settlement, and recovery
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in reinsurance
- Conduct periodic reviews of reinsurance documentation

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
- Min 4-6 years Reinsurance experience
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance requirements
- In-depth knowledge of reinsurance concepts, methodologies, and industry practices
- Proven experience in reinsurance operations within the short-term insurance industry
