Layout Artist

**1. Job Purpose** **The purpose of the Layout Artist is to develop artwork visuals that are an accurate representation of the customer’s branding requirements on the selected product and to communicate any branding limitations. Setting up print ready files and ensuring colours are converted properly.

**2. Job Objectives and Functions**

**Creating Artwork Visuals**
- Develop artwork visuals and communicate to relevant sales/clients regarding limitations, to obtain layout approvals
- Make amendments based on customer feedback.

**Colour Conversion**
- Understand Pantones and Thread colours

**Print File**
- Setup print ready files in line with products.
- Produce print files to scale
- Print files to match approved layouts

**Quality Checking**
- Quality check print files against the supplied artworks and approved layout to ensure there’s no errors.

**3. Job Requirements**

**Qualifications** NQF 4 Matric - Essential**

**NQF 5/6 Graphic and Multimedia Designer - Essential** Knowledge**

**Artwork Set-up -** Set-up print ready files for production. Expert knowledge of Bleeds, cut-lines and safe areas. Artwork requirements and limitations.

**Colour Profiles - **Understands colour conversions and matching to standard print colours (Pantones or CMYK).

**Materials - **Expert knowledge of different product materials and how that impacts branding.

**Experience**

4-5 years in Branding Processes
