**1. Support and develop Mathematics and Physical Sciences teachers.**
- Conduct teacher development workshops and class visits on a regular basis
- Support teacher with content & pedagogy related issues within the context of CAPS
- Support teachers to enhance their planning, implementation and evaluation skills
- Support teachers to develop holistic in-service training programmes in their schools, based on a need assessment of the teachers through the Base Line Assessment
- Develop efficiency in the use of learning and support materials
**2. Enhance Learner performance in Mathematics and Physical Sciences**
- Conduct Learner development workshops and class visits on a regular basis
- Conduct learners' afternoon clinics, Saturday and holidays classes
- Conduct coding and robotic classes
- Understand and engage in gamification
**3. Project Coordination**
- Plan training activities as per service delivery contract
- Conduct and analyze Base Line Assessment
- Developing workshop and training manuals
- Conduct and analyze evaluations for all workshops, classroom visits and training
- Conduct Pre and post-tests as well as summative assessment
- Conduct teachers' diagnostic & plan workshops based on diagnostic outcome
- Track teacher and learner progression
**4. Data collection and report writing**
- Compiling a data base of all schools, geographical location and staff profiles
- Write project reports
**Job Requirements**:
- B.Ed. Degree majoring in Mathematics and Physical Sciences, PGCE or equivalent qualification.
- Proven track record of 3 - 5 years' teaching Mathematics and Physical Sciences Grade 10 - 12.
- English speaking a must.
- Up-to-date CAPS curriculum knowledge.
- Be able to build relationships and communicate effectively.
- Be competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point required for submitting reports.
- Be available on weekdays, during school hours and afternoons, as well as certain Saturdays and Holidays.
- Be available to attend Maths Centre induction in Braamfontein, Johannesburg.
- Be flexible to travel and stay over, as may be required.
- Be open to the use of innovation in teaching and the development of teachers.
- SACE registration
- Hold a valid driver’s licence; own a functional car with comprehensive insurance.
**Job Type**: Temporary
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: R20 000,00 - R28 000,00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Soweto, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)
