Operations Superintendent

**Introduction**:
An opportunity has become available to join a JSE listed manufacturing in the capacity of Operations Superintendent. The role will be based at their Central Distribution Centre (CDC) in Springs.

**Key role**:
The Incumbent will be required to provide oversight, coordination and control of the functioning of CDC. To manage recyclable materials stock, manage people, ensuring adherence to safety rules, manage continuous improvement projects of CDC, manage operational and logistics processes, supervision of 3rd party contractors as well as building and maintaining good relations will all Divisions.

**Requirements**:

- Diploma/Degree in Logistics & Warehousing / Engineering / Supply Chain / Business related qualification
- A post degree qualification would be advantageous

**Primary duties**:

- Ensure overall operational functioning and administrative management of the CDC
- Ensure profitable procurement & sale of quality stock within set recycling standards
- Manage recyclable stocks, cycle counts, monthly stock takes, and annual stock takes
- Ensure adherence to safety and regulatory requirements
- Ensure that the CDC budget is properly managed and always kept within set limits
- Oversee and performance manage CDC Staff as well as contractor Staff through Contractor Manager
- Manage equipment and facilities and related matters
- Ensure continuous review and improvement of CDC processes
- Compile management reports as defined
- Initiate, implement and control CDC continuous improvement projects
- Manage relationships with suppliers and customers
- Back up for all related supervisory roles when required across the logistics function

**Salary**: up to R450k PA CTC, depending on previous experience
