Completed formal education/ diploma in an electrical field and/ or Apprentice/trades certified

- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel, Word) and web-based operational tools.
- Proficient with Change Management Systems (CMS) and Ticket Systems.
- 4+ years of job-related experience

Key job responsibilities
- SAFETY

Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and diligently encourage a world-class safety culture. As a facility owner team, ensure remediation of safety risks/issues in conjunction with other teams. Own the safety initiatives and projects to foster strong safety culture.
- ENGINEERING & FACILITY OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE

Operational experience and familiarity with electrical and mechanical equipment, including Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS’s), Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS's), Diesel Generators, Chillers, Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC), Exhaust Fans, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's), and Transformers.
- Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) o Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log-taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.)
- Supervise contractor or Engineering Operations Technicians to ensure proper operation and maintenance of all facility equipment.
- Driving continuous improvement efforts on infrastructure through standardization of procedures and policies, while delivering performance against agreed metrics.
- Provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians and assist in recruiting efforts.
- Lead the root cause analysis for operational issues, and conduct meetings with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to finalize mitigation strategies.
- Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required (weight limits in accordance with regulations).
- Ability to work 12hr shifts, rotating between working days and nights, as per the prescribed company shift pattern.

Cape Town, ZAF

5+ years of Data Center/ mission critical engineering experience
- 5+ years of Job-related experience
- Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline
- Familiar with Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) control systems and data collection/trending.
- Highly proficient in written and spoken English
