Senior Professional Officer - GIS and Information

Management

**Requirements**:

- B. Degree / B Tech in Geographical Information Systems or any

other Information System field of study
- 5 or more years of relevant experience required in a Geographical

Information System field
- Proven spatial database administration and GIS project

management expertise
- Strong data management, analytical, report writing and

communication skills
- Well-developed computer proficiency (MS Office, SharePoint)
- A valid Code EB (08) driver’s licence would be an advantage

Key Performance Areas
- Coordinates the spatial information management function of the

Community Services and Health directorate
- Coordinates and provides support for the Information & Knowledge

Management function of the directorate
- Conducts relevant GIS research and analysis used to establish key

trends, draw comparisons, identify areas of risk and inform strategic

and operational planning and policy-making
- Coordinates and provides support for the project management

function of the directorate
- Coordinates and provides support for the business analysis function

of the directorate
- Manages and communicates with stakeholders on work issues of

common interest and/ or to share information
- Supervises staff within the unit
