Support the Body launch team during VP and subsequent builds
Coordinate weld tear down on production prototype units to analyze weld effectiveness
Support the tooling buy-off team at vendor locations
Develop complete weld control plans that include:
Pry and chisel checking procedures
Tip dressing programs and schedules
Action plan addressing weld effectiveness
Weld certification process that meets company Standards
Weld schedules for each station including a back-up weld plan
Conduct supplier part weld certification studies
Readjust weld schedules as required
Welding Quality inspector file audits to schedule
Weld inspection optimization improvement
Improve Framing Line equipment uptime using monitoring tools and weld verification (destructive/non-destructive testing).
Develop and implement short, medium and long-term improvement plans for implementation within the welding process.
Optimization of weld processes to meet objectives of lowering cost and/or improving productivity.
Aiding in the welding assembly and maintenance of welding equipment.
**Qualifications and Experience**:
National Diploma or degree: Mechanical / Welding Engineering
3-4 Years Part / Product Assembly Experience.
Weld parameter setup.
Destructive testing and weld quality verification
Experience in Resistance Spot Welding within an automotive Industry.
Welding, general mechanical and electrical experience.
Production Knowledge and Experience.
Manufacturing Engineering Knowledge and Experience.
Knowledge and experience of Robotic and Welding technology within a Body Shop environment.
Safety and housekeeping.
