To Manage and ensure Quality requirements of mild and stainless-steel fabrications, steel erection and corrosion protection according to ISO 3834, ISO 9001, SANS/ISO 17020 and SANS 10227.
- Qualifications and Essential Requirements:
1.1. Welding and fabrication Inspector Level 2 (SAIW)

1.2. Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ working experience as a level 2 inspector.

1.3. Mandatory: Position requires a minimum of 2 to 3 years’ working experience with ISO 3834 pressure vessel level (Quality requirements for fusion welding of metallic materials).

1.4. Training/Knowledge of ISO/SANS standards: ISO 9001 series, SANS/ISO 17020 and SANS 10227 and implementation.

1.5. Computer literate (able to operate MS office).

1.6. Technical knowledge and an ability to read and interpret technical/engineering drawings.
- Other Requirements:
2.1 Experience in the fabrication of mild and stainless-steel products and corrosion protection.

2.2 Must be able to handle multiple priorities and deadlines and ability to work under pressure. Ability to work independently and focus on detail and procedures.

2.3 Willingness and flexibility to work overtime, on weekends and to travel.

2.4 Accuracy and attention to detail.

2.5 Exceptional organisational skills and a self-starter.

2.6 Ability to communicate at all levels and sound interpersonal skills.

2.7 Advantages: experience with material handling equipment, platework, tanks, filter presses, belt filters, pressure vessels, etc.
- Key Responsibilities:
3.1 Reporting to the Managing Director on a monthly basis on ISO 3834 /9001 standards and/or progress

3.2 Planning inspections.

3.3 Evaluate the validity and acceptability of inspection results.

3.4 Welding co-ordination activities and assisting with welding consumable control.

3.5 Liaise with client quality inspectors.

3.6 Ensure condition and calibration status of measuring equipment.

3.7 Perform inspection in accordance with procedures and industry practice.

3.8 Ensure inspection records are maintained.

3.9 Be familiar with tools and equipment and proficient in their use.

3.10 Ensure timely and progressive compilation of quality dossier/data books.
