Draughting Technician

The role of the Draughtsperson is to assist the Engineering department with all project PV layouts and renders. Your role is to proactively assist the Engineering team in creating accurate draughts and maintain full responsibility for the engineering packs. The project sizes range from 20kWp to 20MWp.

**Principal responsibilities**:

- Assisting the Engineering team with timely and accurate draughts.
- Working across the group of companies to ensure draughting standards are maintained.
- Create draughting processes and document accordingly.
- Manage the draughting file names and saving of, in best practice.
- Creating a virtual representation of solar carports; ground mounts; and rooftop configurations for form, fit and function.
- Create professional-grade 2D and 3D design drawings and documentation.
- Clear and accurate detail drawings for manufacturing and assembly.
- Include manufacturing standards and dimension detail.
- Analyse designs and components using parametric and freeform modelling.
- Dynamic simulation and digital prototyping.
- General office duties as required.
- Develop best practices and tools for system engineering and design.
- When changes to the system are implemented during installation or operations after the design is completed, update design drawings.

**PERSON DESCRIPTION**

**Experience**:

- Must have two years of proven draughting experience.
- Driver’s license essential.
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Autodesk Inventor.
- Proficient in AutoCAD 2D/ 3D
- Proficient in MS Office Package
- Ability to Issue Revisions, Drawings and Design Prints within deadlines

**What Does Success Look Like?**

**By Month 3**
- Complete onboarding and become proficient with SAE platforms.
- Understand SAE drawing pack and the layout thereof.
- Review EPC guidelines

**By Month 6**
- Pass probation
- Can complete full engineering pack on their own with an Engineer/Senior Engineer including as build drawings
- Pass EPC guidelines test

**By Month 12**
- Can work fully independently without supervision.
