**SPECIFICATION**

A business supplying signage to the retail industry is looking for a Laser/Punch Operator to handle all set-ups and production runs, ensuring safety, accuracy, and timeliness all of jobs, machines and equipment in the Laser/Punch area.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES, NOT LIMITED TO**:

- Set-up, adjust and prepare turret punch/laser combination nc jobs. o Finding proper tooling per set up.
- Programming
- Check the heights of tooling and adjust.
- Set-up and adjustment of material.
- Locate and upload proper program from machine control.
- Ensure optimal laser cutting conditions.
- Provide immediate feedback, to supervisor on jobs not meeting set-up and/or production standards.
- Sep-up includes but is not limited to:

- Work with engineering and operations to ensure finished products are produced in the safest, effective manner, while maintaining high quality control standards.
- Ensure all equipment, and area, is properly set up in a safe manner and that all safety devises are in use.
- Performs set-up inspections, first piece inspections as well as all subsequent inspections as required.
- Monitor equipment and tool wear, and request external maintenance when required.
- Perform simple machine maintenance and repair as required.
- Work with supervisor. Engineer and engineering to make constant improvements in tooling, programs and lean activities.
- Will be required to cross-train as back-up in other areas of the manufacturing plant.
- Required to have proper and accurate entry into the data collection system.
- Other job-related duties as may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Prefer at least 1-2 years of experience setting up and programming laser/punch machines.
- Must have experience in setting up and adjusting laser and/or punch machines, along with maintaining laser optics.
- You should know how to analyse and write simple G, M and other programming codes and understand and select laser cutting gases and parameters for optimal cutting.
- Position requires good mathematical ability and the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Position requires the ability to operate measuring devises such as calipers, micrometers and protractors.
