Support

**Requirements**:

- Relevant Law Degree
- Admitted Attorney
- 8 years or more years’ experience in the legal field
- Knowledge of applicable legislation, by laws and policies to

mitigate undue risks
- Drivers Licence
- No criminal record

Key Performance Areas
- Advising on legal matters relevant to the operational environment

of the Safety and Security Directorate.
- Provide guidance to the Directorate on legal rules of engagement

when conducting operations.
- Engages with stakeholders in the legal department, external legal

service providers and legal representatives of all spheres of

government in respect of policing related matters.
- Providing high level guidance and support across the Directorate

on legislation, policies and relevant by-law matters.
- Ensures the efficiency and effectiveness of initiatives, projects,

programs, systems, policies and practices are implemented.
- Improves quality management systems and standardisation in

respect of processes and policies.
- Ensures that the Directorate meets the requirements contained in

the City’s Integrated Risk Management (IRM) Policy and related

processes and procedures.
- Providing guidance to the department on City’s Supply Chain

Management processes and implementation guidelines of

Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA) so as to minimise

undue risk and liability to the Directorate.
- Ensures effective decision-making and improve service delivery

through the innovative and creative use of information and

knowledge.
- Reviewing, researching and drafting various agreements both

internal and external to the department in terms of the

directorate/department’s delegations.
- Conducting regular compliance reviews on existing policies to

ensure that they comply to any new legislation or regulations.
