Morning only postgraduate opportunities for young people wanting a career or experience in Behaviour Psychology or Autism Early Intervention.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
1: Provide direct support and assistance to children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD);
2: Work closely with children aged 2 to 8 years diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a classroom setting.

3: Assist the teaching team in the implementation of the curriculum, ensuring activities are tailored to meet the individual needs of each child.

4: Prepare creative and engaging lessons for children to complete during class time, incorporating strategies to support their learning and development.

5: Provide support to children on the playground, facilitating motor planning activities and promoting social interaction.

6: Assist children with ASD in overcoming behavior challenges, implementing strategies and techniques in collaboration with the teaching team.

7: Collaborate with speech therapists to support speech and language development in children with ASD.

8: Learn and implement basic sign language skills and the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) to facilitate communication and language acquisition for children with ASD.

9: Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for all children, promoting inclusion and positive social interactions.

10: Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers, providing updates on their child's progress and addressing any concerns or questions they may have.

11: Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in working with children with AS

12: Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in working with children with ASD and related developmental disorders.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: R4 000,00 - R5 000,00 per month

Expected hours: 25 - 30 per week
