**Fleet Maintenance Supervisor.**

Accountability: Warehouse Manager / Management

**Job purpose**

Responsible for the effective and efficient Management of the company’s fleet of vehicles and mobile equipment.

Management of all Fleet input and output resources and controls to ensure that all resources are being used to its maximum - and solely for Company purposes.

Monitor use and abuse of vehicles - any irregularities must be reported to Management immediately.

Specific Tasks
- Maintaining of all diesel and fuel records.
- To facilitate the smooth running of company owned vehicles by attending timeously to resolve breakdowns.
- Plan and implement a maintenance program for the company’s fleet of motor vehicles and mobile equipment.
- Recording and reconciling distance traveled against planned destination and prepare schedules detailing fuel and service & maintenance costs for the company’s fleet of vehicles - to support the decision-making processes.
- To liase with external suppliers on quotations and the quality of service rendered - to follow up claims on defective goods / spares supplied and to ensure we are getting what we paid for.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**

Ø Processes work orders, defect slips, route sheets, fuel report, employee request forms, and other related information.

Ø Schedules and prioritize vehicle maintenance and repair activities.

Ø Develops and implements maintenance standards and repair activities, monitors work for quality.

Ø Monitors and recommends campaigns to improve the safety and operation of transit vehicles.

Ø Ability to diagnose, analyze and recommend solutions for safety and continuous operations of the fleet.

Ø Ability to prepare detailed and complex reports.

Ø Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Ø Ability to analyze and evaluate accident situations and recommend improved operational procedures and methods.

Ø Ability to read a map and navigate using the Tracking System on a P.C.

Ø Assigns road calls.

Ø Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Ø Ability to complete and assign tasks in a safe manner and in a constant state of alertness.

Ø Directly responsible for the maintenance of fleet vehicles.

Ø Work with various vendors for the best costs on service work and components.

Ø Provides input to the Company Vehicle Policy.

Ø Must be conversant with all company policies and government regulations relating to the proper operation of company vehicles.

**TRUCKING**

Ø Confirm vehicles on routes - check for route plan and report any deviation from route plan.

Ø Driver and conductors - Time management for overtime and night payments. Report any inaccurate information or false claims supplied.

Ø Monitor fleet for excessive speed and other related motor vehicle abuse.

**LICENSES AND REGISTRATION**

Ø Ensure proper licenses and registration documentation are displayed on the vehicle.

**GOALS FOR IMPLEMENTING THE TECHNOLOGY TOOLS ARE**:
Ø Vehicle history.

Ø Management of Warranty Claims.

Ø Vehicle Replacement Analysis.

Ø Tracking of Activities of all vehicles.

Ø C- Tracking Facility Maintenance.

**REPORTING REQUIREMENTS**

Ø Mileage Report - Period mileage and mileage for a specified period.

**EQUIPMENT REPORTS**

Ø Mileage/usage

Ø Repairs/service activity

Ø Equipment cost analysis

Ø Fuel and oil consumption

Ø Equipment Exceptions (costs, fuel and oil consumption)

Ø Recurring reported component defects or complaints.

**Salary**: R10,000.00 - R20,000.00 per month
