The Credit Controller will be responsible for credit control, credit management, debt collection, debtors, and finance-related tasks. The Credit Controller will report to the Operations Manager and will work with other departments to ensure accurate financial records.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Credit Assessment**
- Assessing the creditworthiness of potential clients or customers.
- Setting and adjusting credit limits and terms based on risk assessment and credit history.

**Invoice Management**
- Issuing invoices and ensuring timely billing.
- Managing and reconciling customer accounts.

**Debt Collection**
- Monitoring debtor balances to ensure compliance with payment terms.
- Proactively contacting debtors to ensure timely payments.
- Negotiating repayment plans with clients who are facing financial difficulties.

**Record Keeping**
- Maintaining accurate records of all chasing activity.
- Documenting all communication with clients regarding outstanding debts.

**Reporting**
- Preparing reports on the status of credit and collections for management.
- Analyzing and reporting on bad debts or late payments.

**Legal Proceedings**
- Initiating legal proceedings if debts are not paid.
- Liaising with solicitors and bailiffs where necessary.

**Policy Development and Compliance**
- Developing and implementing credit control procedures and policies.
- Ensuring all activities comply with legal and company standards.

**Client Relations**
- Managing relationships with clients to ensure smooth handling of their accounts.
- Resolving client issues related to credit and collections.

- Sound Banking and Home Loans background
- Debt Collection and Debtors management skills
- Strong understanding of finance principles and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize and work independently
- Excellent analytical skills and advanced mathematical ability
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping
- Experience with accounting software is a plus.

**Qualifications**
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Recognition of prior learning
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field (advantageous)
