Maintenance Foreman

**South Africa - KwaZulu Natal**, eThekwini West (Hillcrest / Hammarsdale)**

Our client based in Cato Ridge is looking for a Maintenance Foreman to join their Plant in Cato Ridge.

The individual will be Responsible for facilities, equipment’s used to produce Agglomerates run to their maximum efficiency and output.

This includes preventive maintenance, managing breakdowns of electro-mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic and robotic systems (including software programming).

Carry out repairs under his ability to help the team to complete tasks.

This role reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Minimum Requirements:

- Millwright Red Seal (N6) or Degree in Engineering
- Plant level experience with proven maintenance management experience.
- 6 years + in the role as a maintenance foreman
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Purpose of the Role:

- Lead the sites Maintenance function in providing both a reactive and pro-active, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities
- Responsible for planned scheduling and timely completion of work carried out.
- Increase plant operational effectiveness, reduction of mean time between failures and
- Manage and implement improvement plans, ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.
- Manage the team on technical best practice and establish standard policies and procedures whilst also mentoring and leading the department.
- Must be able to respond to calls 24/7 for relevant matters that impact production

Key Responsibilities:

- Adhere to daily and weekly checks to ensure smooth operation of site.
- Schedule both internal and external work(s) maximising plant utilization and reducing unplanned downtime.
- Manage the team to ensure machine availability, reactively managing dysfunctional machinery with the Shift supervisors.
- Ensure routine maintenance requirements of a variety of electro-mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and automation/programming systems are undertaken.
- Attend various meetings and action/communicate instructions.
- Produce written reports.
- Perform root cause analysis and propose/resolve problems.
- Identify improvement opportunities.
- Manage contractors on site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements
