**Job description**:
**Job Purpose**:

To manage the entire NPD process to market from opportunity identification to consistent sell through in line with business strategy.

**Job Objectives**:

- To analyse and research data on market and product trends to identify and react to new opportunities on an adhoc basis
- To evaluate and secure dossiers that are commercially viable and profitable from manufacturers/suppliers
- To effectively manage relationships with manufacturers to ensure successful timeous product launches and sell through of Unicorn products to meet budget requirements.
- To actively manage the process of comprehensive packaging and branding development in line with approved Style guides
- To create, develop and manage marketing material, POS and educational material as approved by the RP to ensure product sell through
- To investigate and analyse product sales and promotions on an ongoing basis and take appropriate action to ensure financial targets are met
- To ensure sufficient stock is available for sale at all times through inventory management oversight with assistance from the Planner and communication with the manufacturer.
- To effectively negotiate the commercial terms and conditions of agreements with new and existing suppliers with assistance as needed from the Sourcing Manager

**Minimum requirements**:
**Job Knowledge**:

- Job Knowledge of new product development, sourcing processes and of product quality standards.
- Knowledge and understanding of stock flow processes through a supply chain
- Knowledge of merchandise functions e.g., sourcing, buying, supply chain, etc.
- Knowledge of margin calculations and of buying business processes
- Knowledge of consumer protection act and product legislation.
- Knowledge of pharmacy act, GMP requirements and regulatory requirements/ constraints wrt packaging/marketing
- Knowledge of the Pharmaceutical industry in South Africa.
- Knowledge of Scheduled medicine marketing principles.
