The individual should be able to identify problems or issues with a process and figure out how to resolve them. This might involve making adjustments to equipment settings, implementing new procedures, etc. Based on a farm in Tarlton Johannesburg. Bachelors degree in Industrial/Chemical/Biology/Microbiology and a minimum of 3 years experience in Process Improvement required.**

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a related field, such as engineering, chemistry or biology or any higher institution certification relevant.
- Computer literacy certification a pre-requisite
- Proven track record of successful process improvements
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- 3+ years experience in process control, quality control, or similar role
- Assess processes, take measurements and interpret data
- Able to improve industrial processes in order to maintain efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability and maximize profitability.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to develop and communicate the organization’s mission, values and vision.
- Excellent attention to detail skills.

**Duties**:

- Monitoring equipment performance and making adjustments as needed to ensure that it continues to operate effectively and meet the targeted OEE.
- Reviewing reports from other departments such as engineering or production to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Monitoring and maintaining equipment used for processing such as motors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, filters, compressors, evaporators, condensers, pumps, meters, flowmeters, blowers, thermostats, valves, and gauges.
- Recording information about process controls to ensure safety measures are followed
- Maintaining logs of operational data such as temperature, pressure, flow rates, humidity, and other parameters.
- Responding to changes in equipment performance or to abnormalities in production processes by making adjustments to equipment settings or operating procedures
- Staying up to date on industry standards and new technologies in order to maintain proficiency in their field.
- Monitoring production activities in order to detect any deviations from standard operating procedures that could affect product quality or safety standards.
- Coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth production processes.
- Reports to the Packhouse Manager, maintaining open communication through concise and timeous reports.
- Ensures all administrative processes are followed across the departmental scope.
- Ensures all necessary training registers are completed and captured, across all levels in the Packhouse.
- Aligns with the short, medium and long terms goals established by the PH Manager, and supports these through the accurate and timeous capturing of all relevant data.
- Captures and completes all documentation relevant to the mechanical inventory usage and ordering, and ensures stock lists are up to date.
- Understands current spares available and orders all required spares from Packhouse Co-Ordinator.
- Ensures readiness for all audits, and upkeep of all GMP and regulatory standards needed for compliance to standards required in the department.
