Locum Playschool Assistant

We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and caring assistant to join our Playschool team, specializing in the care of children aged 14 to 24 months. You would be responsible for providing outstanding care and assistance for our children and be responsible for following our safeguarding procedures.

**Minimum Requirements**:
**Qualifications**:

- Matric certificate as well as an applicable qualification in childcare or qualification in ECD/Foundation phase teaching;
- Clear criminal record.

- Have a good command of the English Language (spoken and written);

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Ensuring that children are safe, happy, and looked after both physically and emotionally
- Incident report and documentation written up daily should an incident occur
- First aid to be administered should an injury occur
- Implementing the daily programme of activities in conjunction with the Teacher/Playschool Vice-Principal
- Engagement with the children on their age level
- Monitoring and supervising the children in the classroom and on the playground
- Being responsible for the children’s belongings at all times and ensuring bags are packed correctly at the end of the day
- Assisting children with all toileting needs, serving of snacks/lunch
- Cleaning and sanitising of toys regularly
- Maintaining the tidiness and cleanliness of the storeroom and its contents
