**Job Summary / Purpose**:
Responsible for the selection and design of equipment, plant layout, material handlings and production planning. overseeing the development and implementation of systems through the steps. Responsible for project planning and management.

**Hours of work**:
Mon-Fri: 08:00 - 17:00

Lunch: 13:00-14:00

**Primary duties**
- Implement a software (Barco module, EVO module, or anything adequate) to have all maintenance related aspects handled. This kind of software is called CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) and raises all job cards for breakdowns, planned maintenance, etc. It can also handle spares control and inventory.
- They also require a formal planned maintenance program put in place. The one they currently have is not comprehensively documented and not developed according to OEM, etc.
- Tracking per machine in terms of breakdowns, costs, reasons of breakdowns, etc is non-existent and hence.

there is no history to assist in reducing and eliminating certain issues.
- Implementation of CMMS software
- Proactive mechanical maintenance strategies
- Experience setting up maintenance best practices in a manufacturing operation.
- Experience with industry CAPEX Projects
- Implement organisational maintenance strategy.
- Restructuring of the maintenance department
- Planned Maintenance efficiency.

Planned maintenance compliance - completed vs scheduled.

Planned maintenance percentage - planned maintenance vs total maintenance hours.

Monitor equipment downtime vs availability.
- Ensure maintenance costs are within budget requirements.
- Effectively utilise Manpower availability
- Improve downtime costs.
- Enhance machine availability - actual vs planned.
- Improve/increase OEE/productivity.
- Streamline processes and improve workflow.
- Extend asset life span proactively.
- Effectively manage parts inventory
- Ensure safety standards and compliance are adhered.
- Decrease MTBF
- Improve team accountability.

**Preventative Maintenance Program (1 month for development, full implementation within 3 months)**
- Injection moulding machines
- Hopper Loaders
- Maguire units
- Dosing units
- Mould heaters
- Robots
- Chillers
- Compressors
- Water pumps
- Cooling towers
- Power factor correction
- Toolroom machines
- Moulds
- Roster for lubrication on all machines

**Spares (1 month for development, full implementation within 3 months)**
- All stock to be on Pastel Evolution
- Controls for issuing
- Controls for receiving.
- Weekly stock takes on consumables.
- Oil usage consumption
- Items with high usage and costs
- Staffing for 24-hour support
- Oil and lubricant storage according to HACCP and FSSC
- Gas storage according to OHS.

Breakdowns (Immediate implementation)
- Report on plant status at least twice daily
- In-house diagnosis of breakdowns
- Contacting and liaising with suppliers/agents/service providers
- Sourcing, procuring, receiving spares/parts for breakdowns quickly.
- Installation of parts successfully

**Daily (full implementation by second month)**
- Work in Progress (WIP) must be circulated to all departments.
- Ensuring all job cards are filled in correctly.
- Capturing job cards
- Daily checks on oil and water leaks throughout plant and machines
- Daily checklists on machines, eg. Condition of barrel temperature tolerances, settings, etc
- Housekeeping
- Electric panels
- Perspex on all machines
- Material leakage between mould and machine
- Cables, pipes and general condition around each machine
- Check all air valves mounted and working.
- Monitoring staff hours, break times, etc
- Cost saving exercises.
- Cables and pipes to be trunked or neatly tied together.
- Machine main electrical isolators to be positioned outside panels.
- All electric cabinets and panels to be fixed.
- Mould preparations for mould changes, clamps, bolts, etc
- Morning meeting

**Projects**
- Developing SLA’s (Service Level Agreements) with all technical suppliers
- Eliminate all oil leaks on machines.
- Implement Health and Safety - immediate.
- Do weekly technical walkabout/audit for first 3 months - immediate.
- Continuous improvement - cost saving, efficiency, etc - immediate
- Monthly meetings with department minute - first month
- Monthly technical report - first month
- Testing of all pressure vessels

**Progress**
- Report on progress for all above tasks weekly - immediate

- BSc Mechanical Engineering + GCC (Government ticket) or study towards

- Five years Mechanical Maintenance - Like in plastic injection moulding.
