Have a comprehensive knowledge of collectors, depressants, frothers, and preferably flocculants.
- Have regular interaction with the R&D executive to ensure knowledge is achieved on a high level.
- Efficiently manage projects within set timelines and budget constraints.
- Ensure key milestones are achieved, balancing the needs of the metallurgical laboratory and customer sites
- Manage resources effectively to meet project deadlines in the metallurgical laboratory and at customer sites.
- Develop and lead a high-performance team, aligning their performance with AECI's management system and values.
- Lead the developmental metallurgists in regular project update presentations
- Ensure strict compliance with legal, environmental, and risk management standards.
- Implement and uphold best practices in metallurgical laboratory processes and customer site operations.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with relevant stakeholders, including management, vendor managers, and commercial partners.
- Foster open communication and collaboration to enhance project success and overall departmental objectives.
- Play a key role in asset maintenance by adhering to a preventative maintenance plan for metallurgical process equipment in the laboratory and customer sites where applicable.
- Ensure equipment reliability and longevity through proactive maintenance strategies.
- Develop and manage budgets for assays, presenting monthly expenditure reports.
- Propose and implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Transfer gained knowledge to the plant for optimizing current reagents manufactured.
- Contribute to the development of new reagents under the leadership of the R&D Exec to give the company a competitive edge.
- Advise on reagent improvements and ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Supply competitor product analyses to the product team for strategic planning.
- Stay informed about industry trends and advancements to inform decision-making processes.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Grade 12
- Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma - Metallurgical/Chemical Engineering or BSc
- Registered with SAIMM,MMMA and ECSA
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in metallurgical facility as Supervisory level
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Mineral processing background
- Written and verbal communication skills
