Photographer (Cruise Ships)

A photographer working onboard an NCL (Norwegian Cruise Line) cruise ship is responsible for capturing and documenting the experiences of guests during their vacation. They play a vital role in creating lasting memories for passengers through professional photography services. As a cruise ship photographer, you will work as part of a team and collaborate with various departments to ensure guest satisfaction and the successful operation of onboard photography services.

Key Responsibilities:
Photography Services:Capture high-quality photos of guests during events, activities, and port visits, adhering to established photographic guidelines and standards.
Operate photography equipment, including cameras, lenses, lighting, and other necessary tools.
Ensure proper camera settings, exposure, framing, and composition to produce excellent images.
Utilize photo editing software to enhance and retouch images as required.

Guest Interaction and Sales:Engage and interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner, promoting photo packages and services offered onboard.
Pose and direct guests for portraits and group photos, ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience.
Provide information about photo packages, pricing, and delivery options, while addressing any guest inquiries or concerns.
Efficiently process photo sales, utilizing onboard systems and maintaining accurate records.

Operational Coordination:Collaborate with various departments, including entertainment, guest services, and activities, to schedule and coordinate photography services.
Maintain organized photography workstations and equipment, ensuring cleanliness and functionality.
Manage inventory of photo supplies, including printing materials and promotional items, and communicate restocking needs to relevant personnel.
Adhere to company policies, safety regulations, and data protection protocols when handling guest images and personal information.

Image Display and Promotion:Participate in photo gallery setup, organization, and display, showcasing photos for guest viewing and purchase.
Assist with the creation of promotional materials, such as digital screens, flyers, and social media content, to advertise onboard photography services.
Contribute to photo-related events, exhibitions, and presentations, promoting the value of professional photography to guests.

Qualifications and Requirements:

- Prior experience in professional photography, preferably in a customer-oriented environment.
- Proficient knowledge of photography equipment, techniques, and post-processing software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with guests from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a positive attitude.
- Sales and customer service skills to promote and sell photo packages effectively.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with photo editing software.
- Fluency in English; additional language skills are advantageous.
