1. Act and drive in courteous manner at all times ensuring fellow road users and customers have a positive experience of the company.

2. Develop with management a route schedule that is cost efficient, optimal and productive to ensure delivery and collection duties are carried out timeously whilst maintaining contact with the office.

3. Load vehicle safely and responsibly in accordance with weight restrictions and capacity whilst ensuring that goods, boxes are loaded and transported as per instruction markings / client’s instructions.

4. All loads to be fitted with corner plates, straps and ratchets, chains and satans prior to departure - under no circumstances can a load depart without strapping being completed.

5. Ensure the completion of required documentation, i.e. vehicle checklist, customer complaints, missed collections, mileage, delivery records and daily trip sheets.

6. Ensure Waybills and POD‘s are completed in full by the customer upon collection, i.e. signature, date and time, etc. in order to prevent delays in service delivery.

7. Assist with Customs Stops & Tailboard Inspections and collect Releases & Documents from Customs and Customers.

8. Ensure timeous delivery of cargo to clients/customers.

9. Comply with all the laws of the road ensuring all safety regulations and precautions are taken to safeguard passenger’s other road user’s goods documentation and the vehicle and timeously report any accidents.

10. Maintain a professional image of the company and brand ensuring the vehicle is clean and presentable and that you are attired in the Schenker issued uniform.

11. Ensure that all activities in the area of responsibility are compliant with company specific regulations.

12. Collect cargo from clients in Namibia and South Africa - ensuring cargo is sufficiently tied down at collection point to ensure safety of cargo on route.

13. Understanding of routes within Johannesburg, Windhoek and the best routes between Windhoek and Johannesburg.

14. Drive the truck cross border, in a timely safe manner.

15. To be proactive at the border and do what the driver can to assist in getting through the relevant borders.

16. Using of electronic devices for POD’s

17. Sign for correct shipments and if there’s damages make endorsement for it.

18. Take photos for damage shipments.

19. Ensure that the vehicle is only stopped in safe locations i.e. pre agreed stops on route and that at each stop the vehicle condition is inspected - no unauthorized deviation from route allowed.

20. No passengers allowed.
- Matric/Grade 12/Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Valid Driver's license plus PDP and DG classification.
- Knowledge and understanding of Customs documentation.
