**Purpose of the role**

Lead and direct the Learning and Development (L&D, Talent Management and Culture strategic plans and effectively facilitate the delivery of these plans to promote a healthy and strong culture and that enables business growth within Pepkor Payments and Lending, Capfin and Tenacity Financial Services. Provide specialist expertise to the Chief People Officer and Senior Management Team in the development of efficient organisational processes and design, Performance Management, Leadership Development and Communications frameworks, Employer Engagement initiatives and Organisational Change management. Lead and inspire a specialist team of OD and L&D practitioners in the development and delivery of the overall People Support strategic initiatives.

**1.** **Organisational Development**
- Leads the development and implementation of the Organisational Development Strategies, Plans and Policies managing implementation against agreed time frames, budget and reporting against agreed performance measures
- Leads the development and implementation of the Performance Management Strategy delivering against agreed performance measures and project plans over the lifetime of the Strategic Framework; to lead the integration and embedding of effective objective setting, personal development planning and performance management
- Supports the implementation of Strategy roll-out across the organisation, supporting the consistent communication thereof and the development of support tools
- Designs and facilitates the implementation of change management programmes to support cultural, organisational change and performance improvement in line with organisational values
- Support and advise senior managers and executives to create a culture where all staff can deliver outstanding performance and PPL, Tenacity & Capfin can deliver its strategic objectives
- Conceptualises OD interventions which align business outcomes with current thinking and best fit solutions in people management that improve and continually enhance performance
- Identifies, gathers, analyses and interprets data and information to gain insight into organisational performance and to work in partnership with the broader People Support Function and our Business Partners to implement strategies to enhance organisation performance

**2.** **Learning and Development (L&D)**
- Sets the direction and provides leadership for the development and implementation of the Annual Learning and Development Plan ensuring all activity across both the OD and Learning Plans are organised to ensure a coordinated approach to delivery. This involves overseeing the management of budgets and resources which requires the development of innovative solutions to service design and delivery
- Directs the development and oversees the implementation of a culture of continuous learning and development aligned with the requirements of the Strategic Plan and functional operational plans
- Directs the development of effective blended / digital learning and development enabling the achievement of objectives and organisational change
- Conceptualises, develops and maintains the Leadership and Management Development Framework, delivering key performance targets and strategic objectives such as the implementation of learning and development solutions to support reflective leadership and management practice, objective setting and personal development planning
- Ensures that research, benchmarking and stakeholder feedback is gathered to inform the future development of the L&D offer by developing an understanding of the current and future needs of the customer and the organization. In addition, ensuring the effective delivery of their strategic goals as well as ensuring high levels of stakeholder involvement.
- Oversees the delivery of high quality and timely management information on all aspects of learning and development activity across the organisation and information to report progress against agreed performance measures in the L&D Plan. This information informs the allocation of learning and development funding.
