The master solar technician will organise and manage solar projects from start to finish. This includes monitoring progress, managing risks, and maintaining continuous communication with all relevant stakeholders. The successful project manager - solar will be a proactive, self-driven achiever with high energy levels.

Education and experience
**School**: Matric
**Post-school qualifications**: Electrical engineering degree, B Tech, or equivalent (must have practical experience) and/or qualified electrician with a wireman’s licence (must have strong communication skills). A management development programme would be advantageous.
**Job-related requirements**:
Valid unendorsed Code 8 driver’s licence

Essential duties and responsibilities
Manage the solar department’s functions, including client interactions, planning, design, procurement, and installation of solar solutions
Estimate and establish cost parameters and budgets for purchases
Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and certificates of compliance (COCs)
Build and maintain good relationships with vendors, suppliers, and customers
Make professional decisions in a fast-paced environment
Review and evaluate vendors and suppliers for supply options and pricing
Develop purchasing plans for equipment, services, and supplies
Negotiate best deals for pricing and contracts, ensuring high-quality standards
Oversee projects, ensuring quality standards are met
Maintain inventory of all supplies and equipment
Update records of suppliers, qualifications, delivery times, and potential future developments
Work collaboratively with team members to complete duties as required
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards
