Bookkeeper

The Bookkeeper will keep records of financial transactions of the company. Verifies, allocates and posts details of business transactions to subsidiary accounts in the journals or accounting system from documents, such as sales slip, invoices, receipts and computer print outs. Summarize details in separate ledgers or accounting system and transfers data to general ledger. Reconciles and balances accounts.
Will compile reports to show statistics, such as cash receipts and expenditures, accounts payable and receivables, profit and loss, and other items pertinent to operation of the business. Includes the preparation and payment of statutory fees and submissions. Completing financial records to trial balance.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
Making journal entries for all receipts, payments, and other financial transactions.
Filing source documents for all journal entries recorded.
Posting journal entries to ledger accounts.
Preparing trial balances.
Performing bank reconciliations.
Preparing cash flow statements.
Preparing financial reports.
Depositing money received by the organisation.
Issuing invoices for money that is owed to the organisation.
Paying accounts on behalf of the organisation.
Performing payroll administration duties.
Filing tax returns.
Load customer invoices on Eworks to respective jobs and close off the jobs
Supplier invoices to be uploaded on Eworks and Sage invoice number to add to Job.
Debit Card to be updated weekly and saved on Sharepoint.
All Debit and Credit Card expenses must be loaded on Eworks under expenses and billable must be selected.
Petty Cash to be reconciled weekly and saved on Sharepoint and sent for sign off.
Performing other duties as required.
**Requirements / Competencies**:
5 years experience in bookkeeping within a commercial environment
In-depth knowledge of general accounting bookkeeping theories and practices;
Knowledge of effective time management, prioritizing and forward planning practices.
Exceptional organisation and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage a high volume of tasks.
Proven ability to establish and maintain a high degree of confidentiality, respect, trust and credibility.
Is highly numerate and displays expert abilities in general accounting bookkeeping practices.
