Job Description: IT Technician - Video Conferencing

Position: Video Conferencing Technician

Location: Johannesburg

**Responsibilities**:
Install, configure, and set up video conferencing equipment and systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.

Conduct thorough testing of video conferencing solutions to verify functionality and performance.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to video conferencing hardware, software, and network connectivity.

Provide timely and effective technical support to end-users experiencing video conferencing problems.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT and AV support, to ensure smooth operation of video conferencing sessions and events.

Maintain and update video conferencing equipment, performing regular maintenance and firmware upgrades as needed.

Monitor video conferencing infrastructure performance and proactively address potential bottlenecks or vulnerabilities.

Assist in the planning and execution of video conferencing projects, including room setup and configuration for meetings and presentations.

Train end-users on video conferencing equipment and software, empowering them to effectively use the tools for communication and collaboration.

Document technical procedures, troubleshooting steps, and system configurations for future reference.

Stay up-to-date with the latest video conferencing technologies and industry trends, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.

Collaborate with vendors and service providers to address equipment issues and warranty claims.

Qualifications and Skills:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and support of video conferencing solutions.

Recognized OEM certificate in video conferencing (e.g., Cisco TelePresence, Polycom RealPresence, Zoom Certified Integrator, etc.).

Strong technical knowledge of video conferencing hardware, software, and protocols.

Familiarity with AV equipment, codecs, microphones, cameras, and related peripherals.

Experience in troubleshooting network connectivity issues related to video conferencing systems.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to provide effective customer support.

Detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality service to end-users.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Flexibility to work outside regular business hours when needed, especially during critical system issues or projects.

**Job Type**: Contract
Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: R150.00 - R300.00 per hour

**Experience**:

- Video Conferencing Support: 3 years (required)

License/Certification:

- Copy of OEM certificate for Video Conferencing (required)
