Instrument Technician

Good field instrumentation equipment knowledge is required a process understanding
- Advanced computer skills including a good knowledge of Microsoft’s products
- Good working knowledge of PLC’s and SCADA
- Ability to read P&ID’s
- Risk Management skills
- Understanding of relevant technology for improvement
- Industrial network knowledge
- Good knowledge of local area and wide area ethernet networks with fiber
- Editing and fault-finding on Schneider Control Logix Programmable Logic Controllers with Unity and PL7 programming software
- Editing and fault-finding on selected systems (e.g., Adroit Scada, Schneider HMI’s)
- Budget control
- N6/S4/T3 Electronic light current diploma in Instrumentation or Diploma in Instrumentation and Process Control
- Instrumentation Trade Certificate will be advantageous when T3 or T4 diploma is obtained.
- Passed area specific systems training modules for role within the organisation
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Instrument Technician or similar role
- Ability to communicate with people on different levels.
- Computer literate
- Valid driver’s licence
- Own Transport as position requires standby
- Valid certificate of physical fitness for underground work.
