Bakery and Confectionery

A well-established Retailer is looking for a Baker and Confectioner.

Our group is looking for confectioners and bakers to join our supermarket. As a confectioner, you will be adding your creative flare to the bakery's current lines as well as producing some of your own creations

**Responsibilities**:

- Mix, Prepare and Bake a quality range of confectionery and dough products and; creatively decorate products;
- Detailed knowledge of confectionery products, ingredients and premixes and their quality indicators;
- Knead, roll, cut, and shape dough to assist the Head Baker if necessary.
- Place dough in pans, moulds, or on sheets and set oven temperatures.
- Pan, bake and decorate baked products, if necessary, to assist the Head Baker.
- Prepare equipment for baking / icing cakes.
- Assist and teach fellow colleagues and be respectful, appreciative; fair and thankfu
- Assist and teach fellow colleagues and be respectful, appreciative; fair and thankful of other teammates
- Ensure the bakery management team exercise hygiene control and maintain excellent housekeeping protocols in compliance with health departments.
- Check expiry dates of merchandized products
- Keep the sales area, including the counters, refrigerator counters, shelves, walls and floors, clean and presentable always.

**Requirements**:

- Grade 12
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent knowledge of bakery products.
- Knowledge of bakery operations & hygiene and safety standards.
- Possess creative flair for product presentation.

Experience
- Minimum of two years’ Confectioner and baking experience
