**Job Description**:

- The purpose of the ECOHS Coordinator is to maximize the ECOHS performance of the exploration team and support compliance, particularly in the field-based teams and operations. The field-based operations involve high-risk activities such as drilling and transportation, often carried out by contractors. The ECOHS coordinator provides critical professional support on the S&SD front to the technical team on the ground through mentoring, advising, training, inspections, and compliance audits.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Ensure that contractors comply with De Beers Group contractor management and safety standards and guidelines.
- Enforce site rules and regulations and drive contractor behavior by having regular safety meetings, toolbox talks, inductions, inspections etc.
- Liaise with contractor safety representatives to ensure that project objectives and targets are well communicated and implemented.
- Develop basic training material to improve safety performance around drill rigs and other work spaces.
- Advise field line management on adherence to SSD legislation and relevant reporting.
- Engage with project teams to ascertain daily and weekly project plans in order to be proactive and manage the compliance of SSD risks.
- Participate in SSD audits and / or risk assessment.
- Environment - support compliance with ISO 14001 and EMP, as well as relevant and applicable De Beers Group standards.
- Qualifications
- Safety or Environmental Degree/Diploma.
- Drill and/or transportation/loading safety qualification would be advantageous.

**Knowledge and experience required**
- Working knowledge of ISO 14001 & ISO 45001.
- Valid driver’s license without any endorsements/restrictions.
- Mining industry experience would be advantegous.
- Willingness to travel.
