**Guesthouse - Middelburg**

**Requirements**:

- A minimum Grade 12 / Tertiary Hospitality or equivalent Diploma/Certificate.
- At least 3-5 years’ experience as a Manager or Assistant Manager in a similar environment/setting.
- Proven experience in hospitality management, with a strong focus on guest satisfaction.
- Strong leadership abilities.
- Proficiency (spoken & written) in other languages is an added advantage.
- Code 8 driver’s license a necessity (company vehicle provided for work purposes only).
- Financial acumen will be an advantage.
- Basic knowledge in Maintenance (equipment, chemicals ), minor knowledge of plumbing.
- Basic knowledge of First Aid.

**Key responsibilities**
- The Managing of the day-to-day operations, including check-ins, check-outs, and guest inquiries.
- Recruiting, training, and supervising staff to deliver exceptional service.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the property.
- Handling guest complaints and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Developing and implementing strategies to enhance guest satisfaction and drive repeat business.
- Must be able to multitask, assist in the kitchen, with maintenance and so forth.
- Managing all staff and ensuring work is being done.
- Procurement of stock and conducting regular stock-taking.
- Liaising with suppliers/ contractors on a weekly basis.
- Assist in preparing meals in the kitchen when busy.
- Communicating with the Booking platform partners such as NightsBridge, Agoda, etc and Travel Agents.
- Setting Monthly targets and achieving them as well as achieving past figures to ensure growth year on year.
- Expenditure control.
- Ensuring compliance in Health and Safety and labour requirements.
- Marketing of the Guesthouse.
- Sales in the Front of House.
