**The Main Responsibilities Are As Follows**:

- To control the operational activities in the stores: (The stores include all the store areas on the premises, including gas store, flammable store, oil store, hazardous material, open steel stores, welding consumable store, diesel bouser, etc.)

**Maintain The Stores**:

- Stores must always be neat and organised,
- All items must be clearly marked,
- Similar products must be stored together,
- Slow moving and obsolete items must be clearly marked and store separately,
- Maintain minimum and maximum stock levels,
- General function of the stores, i.e., lights, shelves, etc.

**Receiving**:

- Review the Order, delivery note and the physical goods to ensure the correct items have been delivered or collected.
- Ensure all the requirements of the order have been adhered to i.e., material certificates, heat number transfers etc.
- Return all items not complying with the order.

**Issuing**:

- All items issued to production must be accounted for.
- Ensure the manual issue document is properly completed, including date, Pastel stock code, job number, and the signature of the person receiving the item.
- Issue the items against a signature.
- Forward the Issue Slip to the stores administrator for capturing

**Dispatch**:

- Receive the delivery documents from the Stores Administrator and package the item ready to be dispatch. (Palletising, bubble wrap, etc.)
- Ensure the correct goods are being loaded for delivery.
- Ensure the correct documentation accompany the delivery.

**Other**:

- Control all equipment, from receipts, to issues, to maintaining the equipment. (Including all lifting equipment and health and safety equipment, site equipment)
- Complete Stock takes; perpetual and periodic,
- Manage the diesel stock for forklifts and generator,
- Check the forklifts daily for functionality,
- Control the gas store; receipts, issues, maintain,
- Any other reasonable request from management.
- Manage the stores assistant to assist in the above-mentioned tasks.

**Receiving**:

- Review the Order and the Proof of Delivery document received from the Stores Controller and raise the Goods Receive Note.
- Marry the Order, Proof of Delivery and the GRN and forward to creditors department for processing.

**Issuing**:

- Ensure the manual issue document is properly completed, including date, Pastel stock code, job number (if applicable), and the signature of the person receiving the item.
- Capture the manual issue slip on Job-sys.
- Once captured, file the manual issue slips in date sequence.

**Dispatch**:

- Obtain the delivery documents from the Sales Department. Ensure any packaging specifications are included.
- Forward the documentation to the Stores Controller to prepare the goods to be delivered. (Palletising, bubble wrap, etc.)
- Manage the company drivers.
- Day to day managing of the drivers. (Company drivers report to the Stores Administrator),
- Maintenance of their vehicles,
- Plan the daily delivery or collection trips,
- Daily brief and debrief of the drivers and driving log sheets,

**Maintaining The Stores Records**:

- Ensure all capturing are done with-in one working day,
- Print the perpetual stock take report and forward to the Stores Controller to do the count,
- Reconcile any differences between the perpetual count and the quantity as per the Pastel inventory valuation report,
- Once the perpetual stock take has been completed, forward the result and explanations to the costing clerk for updating the Pastel records if needed,
- Assist the Stores Controller to ensure all items are clearly marked.

**Office must be neat and organised,**
- Ensure all files are properly marked, and all documents correctly filed,
- Together with the Stores Controller, maintain minimum stock levels as per the companies’ policies.
- Communicate obsolete and slow-moving items identified to management.
- Assist the Stores Controller in controlling all equipment. Ensure all the necessary documentation is maintained.
- Ensure all documentation are being raised according to the company policies and procedures are being adhered to.

**The qualifications and experience required are**:

- Matric certificate.
- A post matric inventory/ store control qualification will be advantages,
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Stores Controller in a **manufacturing** store.
- Must be computer literate, mainly excel and Pastel,
