**Key Performance Areas**:
NB: These key responsibilities will be executed in tandem with other assignments and responsibilities you may be tasked with from time to time.

**ORDER PROCESSING**:
1. Establishing Warehouse policies.
2. Organising and updating customers addresses and records.
3. Informing customers of the position of titles not readily available and advising when the titles will be available.
4. Annotating (highlighting or underlining) or for invoicing.
5. Preparation of accompanying documents, labels, etc.
6. Preparation of export documents.
7. Planning and design of systems to ensure smooth work flow through order processing, picking, packaging and dispatch.
8. Checking order fulfilment for accuracy.
9. Organising order priority, work flow of order fulfilment.

**STOCK CONTROL**:
1. Receiving and checking stock delivery.
2. Informing Production and Sales of stock position.
3. Controlling damage and loss.
4. Receipt control and reprocessing of return.
5. Establish cost control procedures for all sections.
6. Establishing adequate supervision at all points.
7. Planning of Warehouse and disposition of stock (obsolete stock).
8. Designing stock control system.
9. Preparation of group stock.
10. Daily checking of stock level for all fast moving titles. Page 1 of 3 Initial

**PACKING AND DESPATCH**:
1. Manual packing, labelling and marking all cartons for dispatch.
2. Transport policy and monitoring of service.
3. Organisation of carrier service.
4. Supervision of company vehicles and drivers; planning loads and routes.
5. Assembling parcels for export shipment.
6. Monitoring customer complaints.
7. Advise on economical level of service.
8. Advise on purchasing policy for materials and equipment.
9. Assembling and bagging for bulk post.
10. Preparation of postal documents.
11. Operating banding and other parcel machines.
12. Operating Shrink-wrap machine.
13. Quality control of packing.
14. Sorting parcel for courier service for collection.
15. Preparation of shipping instructions and accompanying documents.

**GENERAL SERVICES**:
Provision of packaging and distribution service for publicity materials and inspection / review copies (sample copies of each titles safely stored).
Recruitment and training of supervisors.
Preparation of training policy for all sections and review of its implementation.
Operating forklift trucks.
Monitoring of services due for trucks, vehicles, machines and generator. Advise Management and once authorisation received, arrange relevant services, repairs and payments.
Maintenance of general Warehouse office staff, filing and recording.
Monitoring and upkeep of generator and advising Management when it requires to be serviced, and arranging repairs and service.
Contact City of Johannesburg when there is no water supply on the premises at the company and advise Management.
Manage all maintenance repairs and advise Management.
Communication and negotiation with Union (if any).
Formulate, collate, prepare and present required weekly and/or monthly reports.
Report directly to the Financial Director.

**SAFETY**:
Manage fire extinguishers, servicing and compliances.
Organisation and enforcement of safety procedures.
Organisation of and instruction for fire drill.
Organisation of an instruction for accident procedures.

**Required**:
Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Abilities: Friendly and positive attitude when inter-acting with customers, guests, employees, answering the telephone etc.
Good team work skills and working under pressure.
Good organisation, planning and reporting skills.
Valid Drivers Licence.
Own motor vehicle.
