Medical Aid rate based on principal member only)- To be confirmed- Advert Closing Date- 13/12/2024- Job Purpose- Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience- Additionally, a base qualification in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
- Advanced programming proficiency is required in at least one of the mathematics software or languages used in the Department, namely, Python, MATLAB, or R
- At least two years' relevant full-time working experience, of which at least one year must be in a lecturing role at a higher education institution
- **Recommended**:

- Industry experience in Applied Mathematics or Data Science would be advantageous.
- Experience teaching or working in an Engineering context would be advantageous
- Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities- Perform appropriate academic and administrative duties in the Department
- Participate in curriculum development, particularly at postgraduate level
- Supervise and assess undergraduate and postgraduate Mathematical Sciences students for their exit-level projects
- Participate in research and produce DHET-accredited publications at a rate of at least 0.5 publication units per year
- Participate in the Quality Assurance activities of the Department
- Assist with marketing and student recruitment activities
- Perform other functions as may be assigned by the Head of Department
