Fire Chief

**Vacancy: Fire Chief & Avsec Manager**

**Location**: Grand Central Airport, Midrand

**Overview**: Situated in the heart of Midrand, between Johannesburg and Pretoria, Grand Central Airport has a vacancy for a Fire Chief and & Avsec Manager.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Plan and manage overall airport operations during emergencies.
- Monitor operational functions ARFFS and fuel.
- Delegate assignments and participate as needed.
- Maintain required records under regulations.
- Chair internal safety meetings with tenants.
- Communicate safety issues to management.
- Coordinate evacuations and emergencies.
- Prepare and present reports for approval.
- Investigate aircraft incidents.
- Attend meetings on and off-field.
- Conduct spot checks on fire trucks and equipment.
- Ensure maintenance of operational vehicles and equipment.
- Maintain uniforms and fire kits.
- Oversee airport security and manage contracts.
- Inspect sites and review security SOPs.
- Ensure proper shift management.
- Handle staff leave.
- Delegate tasks and establish schedules.
- Foster motivation and retention.
- Maintain a management and succession plan.
- Implement reviews and recurrent training.

**Key Requirements**:

- Gr 12
- Officer 1 & 2 qualifications
- Fire Instructor 1041 qualification
- Minimum of 6 years firefighting experience
- Minimum of 3 years of firefighting experience in Aviation Industry and/or Civil Aviation Authority
- Minimum of 2 years Middle Management experience
