Cad/cam Programmer

Young, growing manufacturing company based in Rosslyn, Pretoria. The company has been in operation for 5 years and has plans for expansion. The company specialises in CNC machining, jig manufacturing and metal works. Industries served include automotive, aviation, medical and other private entities.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Programming of CNC machines using CAM software (Fusion 360)
- Ensuring that all parts are machined according to drawing and tolerances specified and that parts are machined correctly the first time
- 2D drafting of completed designs using CAD software (Fusion 360)
- Basic designing and design modifications using CAD software (Fusion 360)
- Ensuring that CNC machines are running efficiently and according to timing plan/schedule
- Drawing up and managing timing plans/schedules for the CNC production
- Managing the CNC stock control (Cutters, tips, holders, coolant etc) using a basic inventory system
- Assisting the manufacturing department with drawings and dimensional/functional queries.
- Oversee the CNC operator and ensure that the jobs are setup according to the CAM program
- Filling out job cards for programming and design hours
- Ensuring that programs are always ahead and that the machines do not wait for programs.
- Ensuring that the CNC work area is neat and tidy.

**Education**:

- Matric - **Essential**
- Tertiary Qualification in Artisanal trade (tool making or machining), CNC manufacturing, CAD design and draughting
- Computer Literate in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook, Projects ) - **Essential**

**Experience**:

- Minimum - 5 years’ experience in CNC programming (Preferably in Fusion 360)
- Minimum - 2 years’ experience in CNC operating
- Minimum -2 years’ experience in CAD design (Preferably in Fusion 360)
- Toolmaking - beneficial
- Leadership experience - Beneficial

- The ability to manage multiple tasks such as ensuring that the CNC machines are kept running whilst also being able to complete 2D drawings and CAD assistance.
