Kitchen Assistant

An opportunity exists for an exceptional **Kitchen Assistant **to join the department **as soon as possible**.

**Minimum Requirements**:
**Required Qualifications and Experience**
- Matric
- At least 2 years’ experience in a kitchen environment
- English (Grade 12) comprehension and writing skills are required in order to understand requisitions, and works instructions, converse with customers and service providers
- Basic Numeracy skills: able to conduct a basic report, to complete HR staff records - at least a literacy level of NQF level of ABET 4, but preferably above
- The ability to work under pressure, prioritize and schedule workflows
- A sound work ethic, good people skills, and a positive attitude are important requirements for the job
- Attention to detail, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A flexible and calm nature, customer service oriented with the ability to deal with challenging customers
- Be supportive of the Christian ethos of the schools

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**D**uties (not an exhaustive list)**:

- Responsible for assisting in kitchen operations before, during and after the service of meals.
- Preparation of salads and sandwiches.
- Ensure that the kitchen and the related areas are kept clean and tidy at all times.
