**Requirements**:
Qualifications:
Technical Certificate N4 or equivalent

Proficiency in CAD software, including AutoCAD and 3D modeling tools (Autodesk Inventor, Vault). Completion of certified Autodesk Inventor fundamentals and advanced modeling courses.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Outlook, Excel, and Word.

**Experience**:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design and fabrication detailing.

Specific experience in the pyrometallurgical industry, particularly submerged arc furnaces, is advantageous.

Knowledge:
Strong understanding of 2D and 3D modeling principles.

Proficiency in 3D modeling environment, including layout generation, part and assembly modeling, general arrangement drawing creation, and part detailing.

Ability to report mechanical design status on assigned tasks.

Knowledge of mechanical equipment related to the pyrometallurgical industry, with a focus on submerged arc furnaces.

Strong mathematical and communication skills.

**Responsibilities**:
Conduct site visits and provide customer service.

Collaborate with sub-suppliers to achieve quality concepts and design intent.

Adhere to company policies and procedures.

Ensure compliance of all designs with specifications.

Select mechanical parts considering obsolescence, availability, and cost.

Prepare and present mechanical designs at design reviews and generate minutes from said review.

Identify mechanical part numbers in accordance with materials.

Create 2D drawings for manufacturing purposes.

Generate assembly drawings and bills of materials.

Carry out design change requests in a timely manner.

Report progress of assigned tasks to the engineering technology manager and project management teams.

Check and validate engineers' designs and drawings when required.

Identify personal or design team training requirements and recommend suitable courses to the design head.

Highlight mechanical and technical risks to the engineering manager.

Deliver designs within specified deadlines and achieve required timescales.

Perform any other ad hoc tasks assigned.
