Academic leadership within the Department
- Facilitation of teaching and learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Conducting research and publishing in the field of mercantile law, with specialisation in the fields law of insolvency, corporate law and credit management.
- Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students in the field of mercantile law, with a specialisation in the law of insolvency, corporate law and credit management.
- Academic administration
- Curriculum development and assessment
- Community engagement and outreach

**Minimum Requirements**
- LLD or equivalent in the field of mercantile law. Specialisation in the areas of law of insolvency, corporate law, credit management will be an advantage.
- teaching experience in the field of mercantile law. Specialisation in the areas of law of insolvency, corporate law, credit management will be an advantage.
- a significant record of quality peer reviewed publications in the field of mercantile law. Specialisation in the areas of law of insolvency, corporate law, credit management will be an advantage.
- a record of successful postgraduate supervision, at least at Master’s level, and
- evidence of expertise, national standing, and an international presence in the field of mercantile law. Specialisation in the areas of law of insolvency, corporate law, credit management will be an advantage.
