Medical Aid rate based on principal member only)- To be confirmed- Advert Closing Date- 5/9/2024- Job PurposeThe Academic Staff Development Programme (ASDP) is a response towards addressing challenges in the South African Higher Education system. The ASDP intends to identify and nurture academic talent early in the academic development trajectory, and to support newly recruited academics to develop teaching expertise; develop research skills, including scientific publication skills.
Appointment within the ASDP will be made such that staff equity targets are met, with preference to black and/or women South African citizens. To be eligible for selection for an ASDP post, applicants must meet the following criteria, in addition to meeting the minimum criteria specified for the post.
- Be a CPUT registered post graduate student studying towards a Masters or doctoral qualification
- Show interest in becoming an academic at CPUT
- Be 40 years or younger
- Be willing to undertake Learning and Teaching responsibilities within the department
- Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience**Minimum requirements**:

- A Post Graduate Diploma or Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Honours) in Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering related field
- Applicants must be South African citizens who are 40 years or younger
- Applicants must be registered towards a Masters or Doctoral degree at CPUT

- Applicants must ensure that they complete the studies they have enrolled for within the 3 years of the ASDP.
- Applicants will have to attend and complete the Teaching Development Programme at the first available opportunity, but within the first two years of the ASDP.
