Agricultural Specialist

To support the credit origination process by performing the following functions:

- Conduct site-due diligence, including assessing land capacity, soil capability, and weather risk, among other variables.
- Produce comprehensive due diligence reports to assist the credit department in making lending decisions.
- Assess previous production records history and assess feasibility of future production plans.
- Review and approve production plans.
- Oversee the implementation of production plans by farmers.
- Assist farmers improve their production yields.
- Recommend risk mitigating solutions e.g. crop protection, crop insurance etc.
- Conduct farm visits at least twice a month for each funded farmer.
- Implement satellite-based GIS tools to assist in remote farm analysis.
- Provide technical agronomic advice to assist farmers in optimising their plant production.
- Build strong relationships with funded farmers.
- Identify challenges that may affect loan recoverability and report timeously to management.
- Attend agricultural events and represent the business appropriately.

**Salary**: R6,000.00 - R10,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Gauteng, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Education**:

- Diploma (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Agriculture: 5 years (preferred)

License/Certification:

- Drivers licence (required)

Willingness to travel:

- 75% (preferred)
